Lodge Management Change
This week we sadly said farewell to Brett and Claire Bayman, who have been our lodge managers at Islands of Siankaba for the past couple of years. Brett and Claire recently had a baby boy and have decided that lodge life is not conducive to raising a family and have decided to return to South Africa.
We are, however, delighted to welcome Ryan and Karen to the Islands of Siankaba team. Ryan Dhana, who many of you will know from the Tourism Industry in Zimbabwe will be working closely with David and myself on the day to day running of the lodge as well as various enhancements and improvements at the lodge with the aim of elevating our overall guest experience. Ryan runs his own business in Zimbabwe but will be with us for the next 3 months, giving us some invaluable insight and experience which we are very excited about. We have a fantastic new manager ready to join us from early December – and more news will follow on him in the next few months. Ryan will be ably assisted by Karen Adams on the Camp Administration side. Karen assisted us when Claire was on maternity leave so is very familiar with the lodge and may be known to many of you already. Karen comes with a wealth of experience in the Tourism Industry having worked as a Journey Specialist with Wilderness Zambia for many years, and in Marketing with TUI in the UK.
The management team also consists of Adam Van Wyk and Humphrey Mwinga. Adam has been with the lodge since the beginning of the year and with his background being in guiding, his focus will be mainly on the front of house guest experience including all our in-house activities. Humphrey has been with the lodge since its inception and after recently undergoing an in-house trainee management programme, has been promoted to Junior Assistant Camp Manager. We would like to assure you of our continued commitment to ensuring your guests stays with us exceed all expectations.
